Links to Get You Started in D&D 5e
I've learned that the longer you spend designing your character, the less you can do with them in the world. So don't worry about how cool, or how powerful they are. Just design someone you want to see living in this world. Sure go with the three halflings in a trenchcoat, or Boblin the goblin, what's important is that you like them.
These character sheets are for printing out and filling in by hand.
The first is for filling out your persons race, class, background, and spells (If they have any).
Second is for your character's story. Their appearance, who they are, and what they want.
Third is for keeping track of your spells and spell slots.
I would also recommend having some blank paper to take notes on the story.
These forms are the same, but can be downloaded and filled out online. A bit of a hassle, and hard to edit during the game, but it looks nice!
